Authorisation – Repair, assembly and reconstruction of technical equipment

Repair, assembly and reconstruction of classified technical equipment carried out for another natural person or another legal entity must be carried out by an employee with authorisation for such activities pursuant to Section 15 of Act No. 124/2006.

The word “repair” means work on technical equipment including the disassembly, elimination of faults and malfunctions, reconstruction and reassembly of the equipment to ensure its functionality and safety.

When is authorisation necessary?

An employer – a natural person (self-employed person) or a legal entity – may provide repair, assembly and reconstruction of electrical, gas, pressure and lifting installations and equipment only with authorisation issued by an authorised legal entity such as EIC.

A self-employed person with no employees may carry out repairs, assembly, and reconstruction of technical equipment without authorisation if they have the appropriate professional competence; professional competence is evidenced by a document under Section 16 of Act No. 124/2006.

What are the conditions for issuing authorisation?

  • conclusion of an employment contract between the employer and an employee who has a document evidencing professional competence under Section 16 of Act No. 124/2006 covering the area for which authorisation is requested;
  • adequate methods and scope for the execution of the activities from the technical, technological, personnel and organisational perspective.

How long is authorisation valid?

Authorisation is issued for an indefinite period.
