Certification PED – Pressure equipment devices
Are you a manufacturer or supplier of pressure equipment and assemblies? As a manufacturer or supplier, you are obliged to make a declaration of conformity before placing pressure equipment on the market and carry out a conformity assessment of the pressure equipment.
A conformity assessment of pressure equipment and assemblies means an assessment of whether the pressure equipment conforms to its technical (design) documentation and meets all the essential health and safety requirements laid down in Annex I of Government Regulation No. 1/2016 or Directive 2014/68/EU.
Pressure equipment and assemblies are defined in Government Regulation No. 1/2016 as follows
- Pressure equipment – vessels, piping, safety accessories, pressure accessories and elements attached to pressurised parts such as flanges, nozzles, couplings, supports and lifting lugs.
- Vessel – a housing designed and built to contain fluids under pressure including its direct attachments up to the coupling point connecting it to other equipment. A vessel may be composed of more than one chamber.
- Piping – piping components intended for the transport of fluids, when connected together for integration into a pressure system; piping includes in particular a pipe or system of pipes, tubing, fittings, expansion joints, hoses or other pressure-bearing components as appropriate.
- Safety accessories – devices designed to protect pressure equipment against the allowable limits being exceeded (pressure, heat, flow etc.)
- Pressure accessories – devices with an operational function and having pressure-bearing housings.
- Assembly – several pieces of pressure equipment assembled by a manufacturer to constitute an integrated and functional whole.
When is a conformity assessment necessary?
For pressure equipment and assemblies referred to in Section 4 in Government Regulation No. 1/2016.
Documents issued by EIC as a notified body (No. 2005) are the basis for making a declaration of conformity and affixing the European CE (Conformité Européenne) conformity marking to the pressure equipment.
Who makes the declaration of conformity?
The declaration of conformity is drawn up exclusively by the manufacturer or supplier of the pressure equipment, thereby placing the product on the market in accordance with Slovak and EU legislation.
Is your commissioning deadline approaching?
We can offer solutions even for cases like these with a fast-track procedure whereby, if everything is in order and the assessment of the manufactured pressure equipment identifies no significant shortcomings, a conformity certificate can be issued in five or even two days. An additional fee is charged for fast-track procedures in accordance with our general terms and conditions.
